About Nurse Elin

nurse Elin wants to find a cureElin Haf Davies grew up in the small village of Parc, close to the shores of beautiful Bala Lake, North Wales.
Elin knew from an early age that she wanted to be a children's nurse, and achieved a life time dream when she completed her nurse training at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, London.
At eighteen, Elin left Wales to work as a volunteer in a 'Save the Children' orphanage in Lesotho, South Africa. Although inspired by working with the children Elin felt a real hiraeth for Wales and came home after only four months. The experience was a major milestone in her life.

Despite the fact that she never really achieved much at school Elin continued to study after qualifying as a Children's Nurse, gaining a BSc (Hons) in Neuroscience, an MSc in Research Methods. She has also completed her PhD thesisdeveloping markers of neurological involvement in children with metabolic disorders at University College London. Making her a Dr Nurse!
